Hayden, ID - On 06-12-19, at around 1:55 p.m. the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Northern Lakes Fire and Rescue responded to the area of FSR 206 and FSR 437, also known as Hayden Creek, for a report of an ATV accident.
Deputies arrived on scene and learned that Christina L. Mathews, a 50 year old female from Rathdrum, was operating her ATV on FSR 437 when she lost control and went off the roadway and down an embankment. The ATV then rolled and landed on top of Christina. Lifesaving efforts were attempted on scene but were unsuccessful.
The Kootenai County Traffic Team was called out and has taken over the investigation. At this time is appears that alcohol was not a factor in the accident and the rider was wearing a helmet.
