Kootenai County Detectives have released the name of the drowning victim located in Rockford Bay on Sunday the 12th of September.  The male has been identified as Daniel J. Schroder, a 55 year old male from the Rockford Bay area.  Based on the investigation it appears alcohol may have been a factor and there is no indication of foul play.  The male was not wearing a life jacket the time of the incident.

Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho:   On September 12th at around 7:20 AM, Patrol and Marine Deputies responded to Rockford Bay for an unoccupied boat which had floated up to a dock.   Deputies responded via vehicle and vessel to investigate.  Once in the area, a dock employee of a nearby marina advised they located a male submerged in the water next to a dock.

Deputies arrived, located the male and determined he was deceased.   Detectives and the Coroner responded to the scene to assist boat crash investigators in the investigation, which is still ongoing. The name of the victim is not being released at this time until the next of kin is notified and more information is gathered.
