Kootenai County, Idaho: With the warm weather over the last few weeks, Kootenai County area parks and waterway facilities are seeing an increase in users. As a result of this increase there have been several parking and other issues at the facilities. With temperatures continuing to be extreme and the holiday weekend fast approaching these facilities will continue to see an increase in usage.
All of the Kootenai County owned facilities have usage and parking rules to ensure everyone has an enjoyable time while at the location. The list of rules at these facilities can be located on the Kootenai County website or by following the attached link: www.kcgov.us/436/Parks-Waterways
One issue the Sheriff’s Office has dealt with over the past few weeks is parking violations. The boat launch facilities have specific parking areas for vehicles with boats only. These designated spots are being filled up with vehicles with no boats or trailers. This is a violation and vehicles will be cited for this violation. In addition to this issue, there have been several reports of vehicles parked in marked no parking areas. This is also a violation and vehicles will be cited or even towed.
The rules listed above outline what the parking violation fees are and what constitutes a parking violation.
The Sheriff’s Office wants everyone to enjoy what Kootenai County has to offer, but in order to ensure these facilities are available, all users need to follow the rules for the locations.
