[ARCHIVED] Sheriff's Office Captain Kim Edmondson Retiring

Captain Edmondson Retirement

Kootenai County, Idaho: We are proud to honor a women who has made history here at the Kootenai County Sheriff Office. Captain Kim Edmondson, after almost 30 years, is retiring from the agency. Capt. Edmondson is the agencies first female that rose through the ranks, working her way through various roles, to hold the rank of Captain.

Capt. Edmondson started her career with the Sheriff’s Office in February 1992 as a Detention Deputy. She quickly promoted to the rank of Sergeant in the Jail.  In 2003 she transferred to the Operations Bureau where she was a Patrol Sergeant, until promoting to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned to the Detectives Division. She continued her move up the ranks to Captain and eventually a Major.  As a result of some restructuring, the Major position was eliminated, and Kim was given the rank of Captain.  Capt. Edmondson finished her career in the Professional Standards Division.
