Worley, Idaho: On December 13th at around 8:30 pm, Central Dispatch aired a call of a possible DUI on Hwy 95 near the City of Worley. It was also aired that a vehicle had been stolen in the city of Desmet. A Deputy was in the area of Worley and noticed the suspected DUI vehicle which ended up also being the stolen vehicle. A traffic stop was attempted but the suspect vehicle failed to yield and continued northbound on Hwy 95. The vehicle continued to the CDA Casino and then back southbound on Hwy 95. Several attempts to stop the vehicle were made but were not successful. At one point the suspect rammed a patrol vehicle. As a result a Deputy ended up firing his service weapon. The suspect was treated at the scene by Law Enforcement and Worley Fire and Rescue and transported to Kootenai Health with non-life threatening injuries.
The Critical Incident Task Force was activated to take over the investigation. This is an ongoing investigation and any further media information will be released when available by the Coeur d’Alene Police Department who is taking lead of the investigation.
