[ARCHIVED] KCSO Responds to Airplane Crass

Hayden, ID: On September 6, 2020, at about 8:50 P.M., Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Northern Lakes Fire Department personnel responded to the 5000 block of E. Lancaster Rd. in Hayden Idaho (Near English Point Rd.) for a report of a plane that crash landed.

The pilot, Craig Craviotto, a 38 year old male from Athol, Idaho walked to a nearby residence after attempting to land the Cessna 182D on Lancaster Rd.  Craviotto told deputies he did not have any more fuel and could not safely make it to the Coeur d’Alene Airport, which was his target destination and initial starting point.

Craviotto was the only occupant in the airplane and was transported to Kootenai Health for non-life threatening injuries.  The KCSO report will be forwarded to the FAA and NTSB for further investigation.  It does not appear that alcohol was a factor.
