Hayden, ID: On August 15th at around 12:35 pm, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office and Northern Lake Fire and Rescue responded to the intersection of Wyoming and Government way for a two vehicle T-bone accident. It was reported that as a result of the accident, one of the vehicles drove into a residence on the southwest corner of the intersection.
First Responders arrived on scene and determined there were only two patients, one from each car that were injured but with minor injuries. Fortunately there was no one home at the time of the crash.
Based on the investigation and witness statements it appear that a 1997 Ford van, driven by Johnathan Lewis, a 47 year old male from Spokane, Wash. was traveling westbound on Wyoming and failed to stop for the posted stop sign. As the van entered the intersection it struck a 1998 Dodge Ram pick-up being driven by Jeremy Ellis, a 43 year old male from Hayden, Idaho. As a result of the T-bone collision, the van was forced into the residence on the corner.
Both driver’s only suffered minor injuries and thankfully, no one was home at the time of the accident. Lewis was issued a citation for Inattentive Driving. Alcohol was not a factor of the accident.
