[ARCHIVED] Kootenai County Sheriff's Office Lobby Begins to Open

Coeur d’Alene, ID: Over the past few months the Lobby for the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office has been closed to the public for the protection of staff and the community. With business beginning to open across the state, the Sheriff has implemented the following procedures for citizens needing to access the Sheriff’s Office.

  • Anyone with questions for Records or Civil, which cannot be done by phone, are able to come to the Sheriff’s Office. The doors will be locked however there is a button and intercom to the left of the door. Simply press the button and explain why you are there and they will let you in.
  • Anyone applying for a NEW CCW Permit will need to call 208-446-1300 and make an appointment. These appointments will only be done on Mondays.
  • Anyone who currently has a CCW Permit in process will be called by records personnel for a scheduled time to complete the process. The days for these are Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Records personnel will be utilizing the information submitted during the CCW application process for the contact information.
  • Those seeking fingerprints for general purposes (employment, etc.) will need to make an appointment by calling 208-446-1300. These appointments will only be scheduled on Fridays.
  • The Sheriff’s Office will be open from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday thru Friday.
  • Masks will be REQUIRED for entry into the lobby. Please bring your own mask and have it on prior to entry.

As we continue to move through the Phases directed by the Governor, the above procedures may change. Additionally, Driver’s License Offices are still by appointment only through Q-Less. These appointments are currently booked through June 16.
