[ARCHIVED] COVID-19 Affects Sheriff's Office Operations

Kootenai County, ID: The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to limit our staff’s and public’s exposure to the COVID-19 virus and as such will be limiting access to the public for non-essential services.

On Wednesday, March 18, 2020, the Driver’s License section will only be open by appointment. Please utilize the Qless app or Sheriff’s website to schedule an appointment time. The hours of operation are unchanged, however the lobby will not be open for general waiting.

Additionally, ITD has granted extensions on expiring credentials and encourages the use of online services. For more information on this, please visit https://itd.idaho.gov/news-info/.

At the Sheriff’s main office, we are also limiting potential exposure risks in the lobby by securing the main entrance and utilizing our intercom to allow no more than three people into the lobby at one time. Again, office hours are unchanged.

Finally, if you are experiencing any of the following symptoms, we will not be providing access in order to keep our staff and other members of the public safe:

  • Fever above 100.4
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or breathing difficulty.

If you are having a medical emergency, call 911
