[ARCHIVED] Theft Suspect Arrested from Traffic Stop

Hayden, ID -  Deputies arrested a suspect on several thefts and burglaries from a traffic stop.

On 2-09-2020, at around 10:15 pm, deputies observed a vehicle that was listed as a possible vehicle involved in several burglaries and thefts across the region. Deputies stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver who was identified as Martin P. Nisley, a 58 year old male transient. In doing some research, the male was wearing the same clothes used to commit at least one burglary in CDA, per CDAPD reports. Nisely also had warrants out of ID and CO for burglary and similar charges. Nisley was arrested for his active warrants and our local burglary charges.

It is believed that Nisley is the suspect in several burglaries in Spokane to include a burglary at Carrington College, Gonzaga University and Mirabeau Park Hotel. Nisley is also a suspect to at least one burglary in Coeur d’ Alene and Lewiston as well as the burglary at the Cleanco Laundry Mat in Hayden.

Nisley has no other criminal history with Kootenai County. If anyone has any information about Nisley or the thefts he may be associated with you are asked to contact the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office at 208-446-1300 or your local law enforcement agency.
