[ARCHIVED] Aggravated Assault Suspect Arrested

Hayden, ID - On 11/14/2019, at around 10:59 p.m. the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 3200 block of E. Hayden Lake Rd. regarding a family dispute with a firearm involved.

The victim caller stated her brother was coming at her and her mother with a firearm and at one point shoved her down and pointed a gun in her face, threatening to kill her. The victims were able to retreat to another room in the residence to hide from the suspect. While on the phone with 911 they relayed the suspect, identified as 32 year old Justin Adrian Hill of Hayden, Idaho, was on a lot of drugs and was somewhere inside the residence breaking windows. During the same time frame a resident in the area called 911 to report hearing shots fired from a semi-automatic rifle.

Once Deputies arrived on scene several spent shell casings from a rifle were observed in the roadway in front of the residence. Two cars and the residence had been hit by gunfire. It was unknown at this point if Hill was still in the residence or not. A perimeter was set up and the SWAT team was called out. The two victims were able to safely exit the residence and were taken to a safe location. Soon after, law enforcement made contact with a naked male standing behind a fence just west of the victim’s residence. The male, who identified himself as Hill was taken into custody without incident.

Hill was booked into the Kootenai County Public Safety Building on two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of felony malicious injury to property and one count of unlawfully discharging a firearm at an inhabited dwelling house.

Hill has no other previous local criminal history.

This incident is still being investigated and more information will be put out when it becomes available.
