Charged with policing a County of 1,310 square miles, 18 lakes, 54 miles of river frontage, and a population approaching 150,000 residents, the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office Operations Bureau is tasked with providing basic police services to the unincorporated areas of the County along with the contract cities of:
Comprised of the Field Operations Division, the Investigations Division, and the Operations Support Division, the Operations Bureau is staffed with 169 full time personnel, 16 part time employees, and 90 volunteers.
